Woody, herbaceous and sensuous, Spanish Cedar is my favourite fragrance. My wife agrees, and she won’t let me have it back. To be honest, it smells great on her, especially on a sultry summer’s evening as she shimmies past my lounger, depositing a gin and tonic on my table on her way to the barbecue. Fair’s fair, I think, and I still have my Oxford and Cambridge.

A truly European fragrance that oozes class. It is distinguished and unique beyond compare of mainstream similarity. Elegant and subtle citrus and cedar make a head turning fragrance offering up compliments to the wearer from people with discerning taste. A most pleasurable experience lasting the whole day.

your Spanish Cedar eau de Parfum is very exotic with heady woody tones!

If a scent has ever been this good, I am yet to find it. The scent changes throughout the day, but is there THROUGHOUT the day. Spanish Cedar is fresh and distinctive. If you buy one EdP all year, make it this one. Simply complex, alluring and a one off. Beautiful.

Another beauty from the masters at Czech & Speake! Most fragrance houses have a woody scent, so it is no surprise that C&S should offer a version to their loyal fans, and as ever they put their own idiosyncratic spin on this. Where woody scents can be more reminiscent of golf club changing rooms, this actually takes you on a journey to mediterranean climes, and does it with style. From the first whiff of this great new Eau de Parfum from C&S, I got wood! Your usual barky and warm tones (cedar and sandalwood hum the bass line here) are coloured by sweet notes- fruits (berries and the rich darkness of plum) and a tang of clove that stops everything from becoming too cloyingly sweet. C&S’s excellent lavender frag, Oxford & Cambridge, is notable for its lovely minty top tones. Here that role is played by bergamot, I think. A slightly surprising choice, but one which ties the perfume together beautifully and dies down within minutes to a muted accent. The smell stayed a warming prescence on me for hours- the longevity is down to its concentrated eau de parfum strength rather than the usual eau de cologne strength you might be used to. Used sparingly and this fine fragrance will last many happy hours, adding its warmth to the coldest of English months!

An excellent and unique fragrance which starts quite woodland fruits and develops over time into a woody fragrance including cedar. It lasts the whole day long. A great scent which all gents should invest in

“C-e-d-a-r Wood” – the words echoed across the airwaves night after night back in the early sixties, as millions of avid young listeners – myself included – tuned into what was then the only commercial radio station in the UK, Radio Luxembourg. At a time when fragrances for men were few and far between, “Cedar Wood” featured an aggressive ad campaign, crediting a certain Christopher Collins with its creation — as if the linking of his first and last name would give the brand added value. It must have worked – at least in my case – because “Cedar Wood by Goya Christopher Collins” After Shave Splash, with its distinctive ribbed glass atomiser and smart bottle-green label, soon had a regular place on my bathroom shelf. As to the fragrance itself, its unusual combination of woody, spicy, and balsamic notes were always much admired by the ladies, who appreciated my wearing a subtle, delicate blend that never ever competed with their own perfume, yet left a subtle, lingering, fresh masculine scent for them to remember me by. Sadly, this quintessentially-English range of classic gentlemen’s toiletries became increasingly hard to come by, eventually disappearing altogether. Imagine, then, my delight, to suddenly relive this marvelous nostalgic aromatic “experience”, when my youngest daughter in London gifted me with a “Spanish Cedar” Eau de Parfum Spray as an alternative to my usual Czech & Speake “No. 88”. More sophisticated, more intense, and, of course, more modern, for me, “Spanish Cedar” brings back that uniquely citrus-based vitality I have always cherished, and then some. In a word, enchanting…

Before I tried Spanish Cedar I thought I had every C&S fragrance I’d ever need (Neroli, Vetiver, No. 88 and Cuba), but boy was I wrong. This stuff smells so lovely. The description is right, the fragrance is really evocative of heady summer nights; but to me it also conjours up a tangible sense of luxury. I’ve only managed to get my hands on a small sample so far (which I’ve used very sparingly); but it’s my 40th later this year and this gem is TOP of my birthday list!

When I was a boy, one of the cedar trees behind our house was struck by lightning during a particularly violent thunderstorm. The next morning, I went out and looked at the tree where it had been blown apart by a blast of light from the sky.
The exposed white wood of the tree was weeping sticky, amber beads of sap that smelled heavenly, clean and sharp and resinous. That very scent takes center stage in the tiny sample vial of Spanish Cedar that a friend brought back for me from his last trip to London. I am dying for my own bottle now!
Juicy bergamot and smoky, incense-y clove and galbanum combine to lift this divine fragrance into the realm of the spectacular. Head and shoulders above other “woody” mens fragrances, Spanish Cedar is a fresh new direction from a great British fragrance house.

If you are looking for an amazing, woody fragrance that evokes sensuality and masculinity, look no further than Czech and Speake’s Spanish Cedar. This is a woody/cedar fragrance with a somewhat fruity twist in the background. I wear casually and amazingly this is one of the few woody fragrances that i can wear in the summer time without a problem. It brings in a lot of compliments with its woody/fruity sweet aroma that regardless of where you stroll by you’re bound to turn heads. I’d also like to say that this a fragrance that can be warn by young men as well. I am in my mid twenties and can pull this off with no problem. But, I guess that the most important quality of this fragrance would have to be the amount of attention it gets from women. I like to use it as a great conversation starter. Thanks to Czech & Speake, i have found my signature fragrance. Thank you guys for creating this masterpiece.

Being devoted to Czech & Speake for many years, starting with No.88 and then Frankincense and Myrrh, I looked forward to each new fragrance with high expectations which are unfailingly fulfilled. Neroli, Cuba and Vertiver Vert have all been added to my wish list for birthdays and Christmas – I have been easy to buy presents for – for a long time! Out of habit really, I have only ever purchased or asked for eau de colognes and so with New Cedar I am using EdP for the first time. Spanish Cedar has become a great favorite C&S fragrance of mine in a short time. Warm, woody, complex and distinctive with great depth and longevity, Spanish Cedar is a triumph – thank you so much. Using EdP has also been a revelation which will lead me to using it with your other fragrances in future.
